High Lifter, Applebee’s Raises More Than $14,600 for Shriners Hospital for Children

| December 16, 2011

Shreveport, LA, December 4, 2011 – High Lifter Products and Applebee’s Neighborhood Grill & Bar teamed up for the fourth consecutive year to host a benefit mud ride for the Shriners Hospital for Children at High Lifter Off-Road Park in Shreveport on December 3, 2011. This year’s benefit brought the largest attendance to date with more than 600 ATV enthusiasts from three states to raise money and collect toys for the hospitalized children. Riders came from Mississippi, Arkansas, Texas, and all across Louisiana for the day-long trail and mud ride.

The event set a new record in money and toys raised for the hospital through this event.  More than $14,600 was raised and enough toys were collected to supply the hospital with toys throughout the entire coming year.  In addition to the money from park admission and concessions being donated, money was raised in several different ways. This included an All-You-Can-Eat pancake breakfast at area Applebee’s the day of the ride and raffles for prizes including a 2011 Polaris Sportsman 800 donated by Polaris Industries, a year’s worth of coupons for Applebee’s valued at $7,300, an Off Road Sound System ATV stereo, and annual passes to Mud Creek Off Road Park in Texas.

“We are very thankful to everyone who came out to support the Shriners Ride and so happy that High Lifter and Applebee’s have been able to continue this ride for the fourth year,” said Scott Smith, owner of High Lifter Products. “This event holds a special place in the hearts of everyone at High Lifter, and we are glad to have been involved with an organization such as Applebee’s and Scott McDaniel, who also are eager to see it continue to grow.” Gail Raines, Director of Patient Services accepted the donation and was amazed at the number of ATV riders who turned out to support the event. High Lifter and Applebee’s are already looking forward to next year and hope to break the record again and raise even more for such a worthy organization.
