Dakar Rally Goes iPhone With New Volkswagen App With Live Updates, Photos
The beginning of the famous Dakar Rally is mere days away and defending champion Volkswagen has released a new iPhone application to keep fans up to date on the team’s latest happenings.
Launching today under the title, “Volkswagen Rally Mobile – 2010 Dakar”, the application provides a bevy of background info, video summaries, sound bites, and photo galleries.
Live updates — mostly covering the five factory-prepped Race Touaregs — will happen during the rally which is set to begin on January 2 and last until the 16. This year, the Dakar runs in South America through mostly Argentina and Chile.
App for iPhone and iPod Touch will provide all the news, results as well as current photographs, audios and videos relating to the event. From high-tech nomads for high-tech nomads: experience the whole fascination of the world’s toughest rally raid and the Volkswagen factory commitment anywhere anytime in your trouser pockets.
