Las Vegas, Nevada – The final race of the 2009 Best in the Desert Series ended with Rockstar Energy Racing’s Rob MacCachren claiming the runner-up spot at the Henderson Desert Classic.  The solid performance earned Rob MacCachren a podium finish in the series point’s championship.

Ford Racing worked closely with Rob MacCachren and his teammate, Steve Olliges, in hosting NASCAR driver, Greg Biffle, in the final race of the season.  Greg Biffle took the green flag and charged the Ford Raptor race truck into the desert for his first ever desert racing experience.

MacCachren commented, “Greg drove great.  I rode in the co-driver seat for one of the few times in my career and his car control was as expected, excellent.  Greg is obviously very talented and he charged the Ford Raptor at top speeds across the desert.  It was a pleasure to have Greg join our team in the Ford Raptor.”

The NASCAR driver completed his 60-mile section in the brutal Nevada desert and handed over the reigns of the Raptor race truck for the next 120-miles to the Ford desert racing champion, Rob MacCachren.  MacCachren’s flawless 120-mile run was quick and as the sun dropped over the Nevada horizon, Rob’s teammate in the Ford Raptor race program, Steve Olliges, climbed into the MasterCraft Safety 3G race seat for the final miles of the 2009 BITD season.
