The Crowds Come Out for the AZ Dirt & Sand Expo
I stopped in Arizona last Saturday morning to check out the Arizona Dirt & Sand Expo and Super Swap at the Arizona State Fairgrounds. With the threat of rain for the weekend, the crowds still lined the fence on Saturday morning to get into the show and take advantage of the deals behind the gates. It was awesome seeing everyone there….a great start to a new style event.
Chris Cahill from Twisted Stitch said it the best… “The Arizona crowd is always fun to be around.” I sure do agree with that. Somehow the Arizona group has certainly taken the UTV market to the next level in tricking out their vehicles. It is always fun to go there and see what is hot now!
With the SuperSwap theme to this years show, Christmas presesnts were on the mind of most of the shopper. “Saturday was a good day, but people were buying more for themselves than for their Christmas shopping list,” laughed Adam Bass from Big Belly Crew. The atmosphere was fun and light with multiple vendors that had the Christmas specials available.
Promoter Andy Myers changed the format this year to a SuperSwap after 7 years of formal trade shows to adjust for the industry needs and the shift in the economic times. “We think this was a successful show,” said show manager Nathaniel Mata. “Now that people see the layout, it will get bigger and bigger each year. We certainly appreciate all the vendors support that we got for this event!”
I am glad that I stopped in to check it out. I got there around 6am and took a whole bunch of pictures of all the booths before the show opened. Check it out…
