The Inverter series by Yamaha has set a new standard in fully functional onsite power supply. Weighing in at only 44 pounds the new EF2000iS inverter Generator has the cleanest whisper quiet power output in its class. The cleanest power is not only stated with confidence but with awards ranging from highest rating in its class from CARB or California Air Resources Board as well as the EPA. Both of these awards make the engineers efforts worthwhile.

The EF2000iS has several great features including 10.5 hours of runtime at 400-watt usage on a single tank of gas. The EF2000iS is lighter than the competition by two pounds and is a claimed 2% smaller as well. The smart throttle in the EF2000iS controls engine idle speed and brings the generator RPM’s up, as the power usage demands require it. Other onboard features include a fuel petcock that can be shut off for transporting the unit. This fuel cut-off also allows the user to empty the fuel by simply shutting off the supply and letting the engine run out of gas. This keeps stale fuel from varnishing the carburetor components and creating trouble the next time it is used.

In the outdoors the Yamaha inverter generator is used many different ways including quietly powering any entertainment devices at the races as well as ramping up lights or service equipment on the toy hauler. We found that the Yamaha inverter generator was super easy to transport and made those quick photography sessions a bit more enjoyable. The engine runs smooth and almost silent and unless you listen close you might not notice it. I have had several generators in my lifetime and I can tell you that this little gem makes getting outdoors a bit more enjoyable.

The price of the EF2000iS isn’t small but the technology that is built into the Yamaha EF2000iS has many asking how you can build this so cheap. Are there any drawbacks to this product? I am sure if we dig long enough there might be something that would catch our attention but I cannot think of anything as of today. I would love a bit more power and the EF2400iS will be a great upgrade when I get ready or I could just hook two of these EF2000iS gems together with an optional twin tech cables.

Overall this little power package works just as described and with the Yamaha name backing it there is little worry on this end!
