Four Peaks UTV Trail
by Alex at SouthwestUTV.com
We loaded up the Polaris RZR and Polaris RZR S on a crisp and overcast December day and headed to the outskirts of Fountain Hills Arizona to the Four Peaks Mountain UTV trail. Even before we unloaded we could see the 6,200 foot Four Peak Mountain Range was lightly dusted with snow and encased in a circle of clouds. We knew this was going to be a very scenic ride.
The 36 mile out and back UTV Trail leads you through large boulder formations and clusters of Saguaro Cactus strewn about the Lower Sonoran Desert landscape. The terrain starts to change about half way through the trail into the Upper Sonoran Desert, Chaparral tree and grass covered mountains.
The end is the breathtaking pine tree topped Four Peaks Mountain Range and features the sweet smell of pine trees, Westerly views of the Fountain Hills/Scottsdale area, Easterly views of Roosevelt Lake and there are hiking trails that lead to the snow covered peaks at 6200 feet. We were truly in the clouds.
