Polaris RZR 4 Robby Gordon Edition

I picked up my Polaris RZR 4 demo from Placerville Polaris today. The new RZR 4 was just introduced two weeks ago and I have been eager to get my hands on one so we can test it out and let you all know how it works.

The RZR 4 was designed and developed by Robby Gordon Off-Road in partnership with Polaris. This is the industry’s first four-seat Sport Side-by-Side. They started with the sporty RZR S and its’ long travel suspension, and stretched the wheelbase 26″ so two more seats could be added.  And the rear seats aren’t just stuffed in there.  They are raised up higher that the front seats for better visibility and more legroom much like seats at a stadium. I am 6′ 1″ tall and I can fit in the back seat.  I have to put my knees to the side of the front seat, but I do fit.  A child or smaller adult would have no problem riding comfortably.

Since the wheels are behind the passengers, the ride should be much better (and safer) that a Yamaha Rhino or Kawasaki Teryx that has been modified with seats and a roll cage in the bed.

Another cool thing about the RZR 4 is a lot of the accessories that work on the RZR S will transfer right on over to the RZR 4.  For example, Lock & Ride bed accessories, windshields, seats, aftermarket exhaust, long travel suspension and shocks. And PURE Polaris already has the RZR 4 covered for roofs and cabs that aren’t common with the RZR S.

Our first big trip with the RZR 4 will be out at Johnson Valley for the King of the Hammers race week. If you see a RZR 4 on the lake bed or out on the trail, it will most likely be us.  Feel free to stop by and take a closer look.
