5th Annual Surplus City Fall Mud & Crawl September 11-12, 2010
OROVILLE, CA SEPTEMBER 6, 2010: The Urban Assault OHV area will hold the 5th Annual Surplus City Fall Mud & Crawl this weekend. The event is open to all levels of competitors, from no prior experience to the pros in the unlimited class. Rock crawling, mud bogs, and a raffle will be on both Saturday and Sunday. In honor of the fallen 9/11 victims, there will be a display of local police, fire and military vehicles. The Airborne Ranger Monster Truck will offer rides to kids of all ages.
The Urban Assault arena has a man-made rock crawling course that can test the best of the pros, yet give a new crawler a good challenge. “Sundays event will included all of the unlimited class action that you would see at a national level, while Saturday is all about allowing an opportunity for the people that want to experience what competitive rock crawling is to try it out and have a chance at winning at the same time,” explained Bob Frank, event coordinator.
Mud bogs are always one of the most popular events to watch and with multiple levels of competition you too can put your truck through the mud! This year the mud bog will also accommodate UTV’s, a brand new class for our Mud & Crawl event. “The track is set up for 150 feet of mud slinging action,” explained Bob Frank, “with 12 to 18 inches of mud, vehicles are going to be slipping and sliding all over the course!” This years event will be more exciting as vehicles compete side by side.
Playing on a teeter totter as a kid is very different than this 33ft Teeter Totter. Trying to get your vehicle balanced just right and applying just the right amount of braking provides hours of entertainment for spectators and competitors alike.
Thousands of dollars in products will be given away in the raffle, with all the proceeds going to the Butte County Search and Rescue Team. The Butte County Search and Rescue Team is an all-volunteer, non-profit, non-tax-supported auxiliary team of the Butte County Sheriff’s Office. The primary purpose is to provide skilled search and technical rescue services to the residents and visitors of Butte County, California.
Tickets are only $10 for adults, $5 for children and 5 and under are free. Racing begins at 9:30 am both Saturday and Sunday. Compete Schedule below
