Creamer Rises to the Top in ATV MX

For Josh Creamer, taking six victories and the 2010 ATV Motocross Championship was a double treat. “It was something for the fans and something for myself to know I could win the championship this year,” he told MaxxDaddy. “I had so many good races. I came from the back in more than one race; just being able to go from the back to the front in any of the races I did was great.”

Creamer held the top spot in the series’ overall rankings for most of the season, with Rockstar/Makita/Suzuki teammate Dustin Wimmer in second place. Close competition with a teammate had its advantages for both riders, according to Creamer: “It’s kind of nerve-racking, but in another sense it’s nice. We kept it a good clean, close race. Everybody else out there, you think you know them, but all of a sudden you get a wheel and you’re off-track. With Dustin and me, it was just clean racing all year.”

Both Creamer and Wimmer trusted Maxxis tires to take them to the top of the standings. “The tires were amazing all season,” said Creamer. “For the most part, I ran the Razr MX, but in Millville, Minnesota, I ran the Razr Cross, and they proved to be really good off the holeshot, and they were really good tires for me.”

This year was Creamer’s seventh in racing. He had been riding four-wheelers for quite a while, he says, and in 2002, he happened to attend a race. “I’m faster than these guys,” he thought – and his racing career began the next year.

Today, Creamer makes his home in North Stonington, Connecticut, spending the off-season at his second residence in O’Brien, Florida. To unwind from racing, he works construction for a few months every year, and also manages to hunt when he can; as he spoke to MaxxDaddy, he was preparing for a three-week trip to Zimbabwe. Throughout the year, he counts on the support of his family. “They’re my biggest fans. My dad makes it to all the races, and my mom makes it to as many as she can. My two sisters help support me as well,” he said.

Maxxis is proud to support Josh Creamer, and looks forward to all the ATV motocross racing action in store for 2011
