Deschutes National Forest Completes Three Trails OHV Project

Oregon’s Deschutes National Forest has published a Notice of Availability in the Federal Register for the Three Trails OHV Project’s Final Environmental Impact Statement and Record of Decision (ROD). This publication signifies the final step in the planning process (review period ends February 28, 2011). The ROD provides that OHV use is only permitted on designated routes within the project’s area. The ROD includes the adoption of some user-created trails and new construction for a total of 142 miles of trails plus 80 miles of connecting high clearance roads for a total of 222 miles of routes. This includes 21 miles of 4X4 trails.
