Bloomquist Wins Forth Straight Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series Race with Roush Yates Ford
Scott Bloomquist dominated the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series field this weekend, winning at Bedford Speedway on Friday night and at Knob Motorsports Complex on Saturday night. The wins mark four in a row for Bloomquist in the series this year, all with Roush Yates power under the hood.
Bloomquist proved he was fast before the races even began, shattering the track record at Bedford Speedway in preliminary action by becoming the first driver to make a lap in under 19 seconds in over 75 years . The Mooresburg, TN native went unchallenged during both 50-lap main events, pulling away from series regulars such as Chris Wall and Steve Vienna and lapping over half the field.
“The car was just right all weekend long, we are just on a roll here since Florida,” said Bloomquist. “I can’t thank those who sponsor and support my race team enough. Usually we get on a late season win streak but here early on, everything is just clicking. The series is tougher than ever before, and to beat these guys takes a lot of hard work. I have to thank Roush Yates and their powerful Ford engine.”
Bloomquist has been running Roush Yates powered engines for the past two years and has posted 31 wins in his career with the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series. Together, Scott Bloomquist Racing and Roush Yates Engines feel they have a substantial chance at winning the 2011 Lucas Oil Championship.
