Frank Kimmel Poised for Breakout Run at Toledo Speedway
Frank Kimmel wants something very badly from Toledo Speedway, and this Sunday there may be no racer in the country that can stop him. Kimmel just turned 49 years old two weeks ago (4/30), and the competitor inside him burns for the feeling of victory which he has felt a record nine times at Toledo Speedway.
The ARCA Series presented by Menards returns to Toledo Speedway this Sunday for the Menards 200 presented by Federated Car Care. All the stars of the Series will be on hand, but for Kimmel this half-mile asphalt oval is extra special. For it is Toledo Speedway that gave the nine-time ARCA Series Champion from Indiana, his first win in the Series back in 1994.
Kimmel will be driving the Roush Yates powered No. 44 Ansell/Menards Ford this weekend. His chances of returning to the place he desires most, Toledo Speedway’s Victory Lane, seem, very possible as he is coming off a 3rd place finish on May 1st at Salem Speedway.
Toledo Speedway activities will begin on Friday, May 13th with the Fourth Annual ARCA Fan Fest. This family-friendly promotion will allow fans to interact with ARCA drivers, teams, crews, sponsors, and officials at ARCA’s home track, and is open outside the track admission gates from 4-8 Friday, 11-7 Saturday, and 10-5 Sunday. Admission is free. As part of the ARCA Fan Fest, Aaron’s will host and sponsor a “Welcome Race Fans” event on Saturday night in the Toledo Speedway Bar and Grille, featuring live music, food and drink specials.
While activities for Kimmel and his No. 44 Ansell/Menards begin with two Menards’ store location visits on Friday, May 13, and the driver is set to sign autographs, pose for pictures, and even offer a special promotion to store customers. Kimmel will appear at the Oregon Menards store near I-280 – 3100 Brown Road – at 4 p.m. He will then be at the Holland location off of Airport Highway – 7001 Orchard Centre Road – at 6:30 p.m. Each appearance will last 90 minutes. Store visitors can take advantage of a special promotion at either location, simply by purchasing a pair of Ansell gloves inside the store. Those purchasing Ansell gloves inside Menards will receive a voucher for a free second pair of gloves, personally handed over by Kimmel outside the store.
Then finally, at 2 pm this Sunday, May 15th, Kimmel will get his shot at his tenth win at the Menards 200 presented by Federated Car Care at Toledo Speedway and to once again enjoy the rush, exuberance and triumphant feeling he has known like no other at this storied house of horsepower.
