GenRight Off-Road Finished the BITD Silver State 300 in 3rd Place
Coming off of a second place finish at the 2011 Griffin King of the Hammers Tony Pellegrino and the GenRight team were ready to get back in the seat and go racing again. As race day grew closer the anticipation continued to grow. It all started with the results from the starting position draw where Tony drew the first starting position. This was great way to start the Best in the Desert Silver State 300 considering how far in the back of the pack they had started at the King of the Hammers.
When the green flag dropped on race day there were 32 Ultra 4 cars that started the race. Being the first Ultra 4 car off of the line was a huge advantage for the GenRight team, allowing them to stay ahead of the competition and not have to worry about passing in the dust. The team was able to run a flawless day with no issues on the car and only having to stop in the pits for fuel and a cold drink of water. Tony Pellegrino and co-driver Tony Fiori navigated the GenRight Ultra 4 car through a variety of terrain on race day that included high speed desert sections, tight mountain roads, water crossings, power line roads, washes, fresh cut trails and miles and miles of the infamous Nevada silt beds.
The GenRight Ultra 4 car features a built LS3 motor boasting 595 horsepower and 585 foot pounds of torque that is paired with a Hughes Performance turbo 350 transmission that gets the power to the ground through an Atlas Transfer case and a set of Currie axles with Motive gears. This was the perfect combination for power as the team was able to tackle the tough Nevada desert with ease. Making sure the power stayed on the ground was a Legend Suspension system from GenRight off-road featuring King Coil Overs and bypass shocks. When it came to traction there was no other choice but a set of 38″ Goodyear MT/Rs to tackle the rough Nevada desert.
When the dust settled and the 4485 car crossed the finish line they had secured a third place finish in the race. This was a great achievement for the team to be able to finish on the podium again after the King of the Hammers race. The best part of this finish is that the team still remains in second place for the Ultra 4 season championship.
This third place finish would not have been possible without the support and dedication of our entire team. The GenRight team members are what gave us the advantage to stay ahead of the competition on race day.
