X Games Gold Medalist Fired Up For Everett Washington Endurocross
Still buzzing from his X Games gold medal, Poland’s Taddy Blazusiak is fired up for the Everett Washington EnduroCross event that will take place on Saturday, August 13th. “X Games just took off-road motorcycle racing to a whole new level” Taddy texted the morning after winning Gold inside the Staples Center. “It was so amazing to race with live ESPN coverage and the huge crowd inside the arena so I can’t wait for Everett”. X Games was a great way to kick off the 2011 GEICO AMA EnduroCross series, presented by Lucas Oil and the riders will get to race in less than two weeks in Everett Washington and then again on Friday, August 26th in Indianapolis Indiana.
Taddy’s excitement about the remainder of the series is not surprising but Maria Forsberg, the women’s X Games Enduro X Gold Medalist is also planning to compete in Everett. The Seattle resident will compete against the men since the women’s class was a one off for X Games only because there are not a lot of female riders willing to put themselves through that kind of punishment. So it will be interesting to see if Maria can earn a spot in the amateur class main event.
If you live anywhere in the Pacific Northwest, you can make plans for an awesome day and night of action. The pit area and Comcast Arena are open for FREE all day to the public to watch the riders practice and qualify for the evening program. But if you want a seat for the main events, you better get a ticket since this event was a sellout last year.
Tickets for the Everett event are available at Renton Motorcycles, www.rentonmotorcycles.com as well as directly from the Comcast Arena here. Information for all of the GEICO EnduroCross events can be found at www.EnduroCross.com.
EnduroCross tracks incorporate various elements of extreme off road racing into a supercross-style setting, including rocks, boulders, logs, sand, mud, a water-hole…and even a few special obstacles like giant tires thrown in! Known as the “toughest racing on two wheels,” this indoor off road racing will certainly keep you on your feet. Don’t miss your chance to see GEICO AMA EnduroCross “Live”. ESPN, ESPN2 and ABC will combine to telecast 25 hours of live X Games 17 competition, which will include Enduro X. For the six remaining EnduroCross events, be sure to log-on to www.motorsportshour.com for local air dates/times for the Lucas Motorsports Hour on the Versus network.
