Dirt Sports Off-Road Pavilion To Debut at IMIS 2011
Officials with the International Motorsports Industry Show (IMIS) announced today that the 2011 event will feature a new area when its doors open in December that will focus on the emerging off-road racing community.
The Dirt Sports Off-Road Pavilion will be an area dedicated to the off-road racing segment and sponsored by the premier source of information for the off-road motorsports nation, Dirt Sports Magazine, the “Voice of Off-Road Motorsports.”
IMIS is a three-day trade show featuring seminars, conferences – including the third annual Safety and Technical Conference presented by Safety-Kleen – and more than 650 exhibitors showcasing the latest and greatest in racing parts and technology. The third annual IMIS event is scheduled for Dec. 8-10, 2011 at the Indiana Convention Center in Indianapolis.
“Dirt Sports Magazine is excited to have the opportunity to showcase the products, technology and race vehicles that make the off-road motorsports segment so exciting,” said Jim Ryan, president and CEO of Ryan Communications Group. “This growing segment offers the entire racing parts and fabrication world an additional market growth and product development area. We look forward to showcasing what off-road motorsports can contribute to the motorsports business community.”
“We are very excited to have the Dirt Sports Off -Road Pavilion on the IMIS floor this year,” said IMIS co-founder Chris Paulsen, owner of C&R Racing. “We see off-road racing as the sleeping giant in terms of its impact on mainstream motorsports. It’s long been associated with the west coast but, with the popularity of the Traxxas TORC Series, it’s growing in the eastern half of the U.S.”
According to Paulsen, the off-road racing industry uses a lot of the same components as other mainstream racing series.
“Engine parts, drivetrain, chassis components, and support equipment are all things that can be found at IMIS and many of the manufacturers exhibiting on the show floor will also deal in off-road racing. Having Dirt Sports involved will help draw the specialty manufacturers, as well as the buyers within the off-road racing industry. We welcome the off-road racers to IMIS in 2011.”
IMIS is owned by Paulsen, along with Jeff Stoops, president of Stoops Freightliner, and two-time NASCAR Sprint Cup Series champion Tony Stewart.
