Roush Yates Engines Win over Labor Day Weekend

| September 7, 2011

It has become a tradition at Roush Yates  to shine in all areas of racing during holiday weekends, and this week was no different. The power plant known for performance and horsepower posted victories in the NASCAR Nationwide Series, ARCA Series, NHRA Series, TORC Off-Road Series, and Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series.

Carl Edwards out ran Kyle Busch to take the win at Atlanta Motor Speedway in the Great Clips 300 on Saturday night. Edwards had to bounce back from an early pit road penalty that put him at the tail end of the lead lap, but was able to move through the field quickly. Fellow Roush Fenway Racing teammate Ricky Stenhouse Jr. finished third, increasing his lead in the NASCAR Nationwide points standings.

Chris Buescher, driver of the No. 17 Reliance Tool Ford, earned his first ARCA win of 2011 in the Southern Illinois 100 at DuQuoin State Fairgrounds (DuQuoin, IL) on Monday. Buescher led the final 60 laps of the event, holding off series points leader Ty Dillon and winning his first race on dirt in the ARCA series.

“These guys, the Roulo Brothers, did a great job,” Buescher said. “To have all the help of Roush Fenway and David Ragan, this thing was awesome. We were on a rail for the most part. This track is not a race I marked on my schedule as one I expected to win, but we still put on a heck of a show, I feel. I hope everyone else thought so, because it was a ball.”

Buescher’s win is the second for Roush Yates Engines this season in the ARCA Series.

Roush Yates and Roy Hill announced a partnership just last week that Roush Yates-powered Ford engines will be in Hill’s Cobra Jet Mustangs. The new deal paid off at the U.S. Nationals in Indianapolis this weekend when Hill’s cars won the Superstock AA and Superstock BA division. Hill is excited to start off the partnership so well and can’t wait to see how the season unfolds.

Roush Yates‘ Off-Road truck engines had an amazing weekend with Adrian Cenni winning three times in three races in the TORC Off-Road Pro 4 Division at Crandon International Raceway in Crandon, WI. Cenni backed up his wins with the fastest lap of the race award. Fellow Roush Yates-powered Off-Road truck racer Chad Hord also proved to be fast on Saturday, scoring a win in the Pro 2 division.

Scott Bloomquist held off series regular Jimmy Owens to win the Pepsi 50 River Days Rumble at Portsmouth Raceway Park in the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series on Saturday night. Bloomquist used his Roush Yates Ford 436 Dirt Late Model engine to capture his 11th win of the season.

“The track was great all night, we started in the fourth row and it only took a couple of laps to get to the front,” said Bloomquist, who earned career win number 514 with the triumph. “You could run anywhere on this track. The engine ran great and I feel like we have what it takes to win another championship.”

Roush Yates Engines have posted 137 wins in over 10 different racing series this year. To learn more about how to get Roush Yates power in your car, visitwww.roushyates.com or call 1-877-798-RYPP.
