Solberg led the rally after the short street stage through the former mining tunnels in the picture postcard city of Guanajuato on Thursday night. The 37-year-old fell back to 13th during the first leg after twice puncturing tires when he hit a bank and a rock. Despite the slight difficulties, he ended the day in fifth and climbed to fourth the following day after setting a string of consistently fast times. Solberg moved into third when Latvala crashed, sealing a strong performance on his first gravel rally in a Fiesta RS WRC when he won the Power Stage by a crushing 1.4sec.

AMA Supercross
Fourth Place for Musquin and Roczen in Difficult Daytona Races DAYTONA BEACH, FL (March 11, 2012) – Red Bull KTM duo Marvin Musquin and Ken Roczen rode to two solid fourth places on Saturday night in the Daytona SX and SX Lites East competitions in what has been described as near impossible conditions on a rain soaked track where many riders failed to finish. The strong performances were important boosts for the team following the announcement on Friday that Ryan Dungey, who remains second in points despite missing the event, was out with a broken collarbone. In only his second competitive ride on the KTM 350 SX-F, Musquin overcame the challenging course to finish third in his heat race before finishing fourth in the main event that was shortened from 15 to 12 laps by AMA officials. Musquin came around the first lap in fourth in the main and was closing in on third placed Kevin Windham half way through the race when a minor mistake cost him the time he had gained.
Earlier in the evening, Ken Roczen put together a solid run despite the dreadful track conditions to finish fourth in the East Coast Lites round. Roczen rounded the first corner of the main in the fifth position and immediately began to pressure fourth place rider Alex Martin. By the second lap, he had moved around Martin and began his assault on Blake Wharton. After completing a pass to move into a podium position, a minor mishap allowed Darryn Durham around Roczen in the final laps.

Hackenbracht Thrills on and Off the Track at the Mobile International Speedway MOBILE, AL (March 10, 2012) — New Philadelphia, Ohio’s Chad Hackenbracht finished a career high second in the ARCA Racing Series race at the Mobile International Speedway, but he was number one in a lot of hearts after he put his own twist on the autograph session by allowing fans to autograph his car. The excitement continued throughout the day, as Hackenbracht found himself behind Cale Gale on the green-white-checkered restart. Hackenbracht stuck to Gale’s back bumper and tried to drive under Gale in the second turn of the final lap, but Gale held his line and the lead for the victory by a 0.634 margin over Hackenbracht.
SCORE Desert Series
All German Motorsports Suffer Mixed Emotions at San Felipe 250 SAN FELIPE, MEXICO (March 11, 2012) — The San Felipe 250, the third of five rounds in the 2012 SCORE Desert Series, may be the shortest Mexico race of the year, but it proved why some consider it the roughest race of the entire season.
The #15 AGM/Jimco X6 Trophy Truck, driven by Armin Schwartz and Navigator Bryan Lyttle, was 10th off the line with 25 in class and was running third overall by RM 60 before Armin was forced to slow his pace after broken mounting tabs caused fuel to begin leaking out of the truck. After limping an agonizing 25 miles away to the pit, the team quickly made the necessary repair and got the truck back running. Now 20 minutes down on the leaders, Armin began to push the pace again but unfortunately, more fuel was lost than the remote pits had to offer and the #15 ran low on fuel 30 miles before the drivers change. Once the team scrounged up enough fuel from neighboring racers and were able to refuel the truck, Schwartz and Lyttle were back underway until drivetrain issues would again stop the truck just 10 miles before Driver Martin Christensen and Navigator Tyler Irwin were scheduled to get in. This final issue would prove to be fatal forcing the AGM/Jimco X6 Trophy Truck to drop out of the race.
The Jimco Class 1 car started the race with Driver Armin Kremer and Navigator Sam Osman setting a strong pace and delivering an excellent performance. By the drivers change at RM 124, they had passed their way up to fourth place physically. At this point, Tony Miglini and Travis DuTemple jumped in to take on the remainder of the course in what would be Miglini’s first true off-road race in the car and class. Not one to disappoint, Miglini got on pace right away and battled with a handful of other Class 1 for a top spot (on corrected time) over the last 120 miles into the finish. When the dust settled and the times were calculated, Tony and Travis brought the Jimco Class 1 across the line in 5th place in class and 15th overall.
