Campbell Racing Has Tough Weekend At LOORRS Rounds 9 & 10, Glen Helen CA
Gilbert, AZ – “Not the weekend we were looking for” commented Shannon on his finishes for both days of the LOORRS weekend. Qualifying was Friday and after an incident on the track it would leave the #5 ProAm/SDHQ Prolite in a 16th place start position for both Saturday and Sunday.
Saturday evening the grand stands filled up fast and were elbow to elbow. The anticipation could be felt as the Unlimited Prolite trucks took the track. Banging doors and bumpers at every corner trying to get through the field Shannon had moved up a handful of positions but was unable to avoid another driver who had rolled on his side directly in front of him. Trying to make up positions he came into turn 2 a little hot and also rolled. The #5 raced to the checker 18th out of 24.
On Sunday the ProAm/SDHQ pit crew worked diligently to make repairs and adjustments. Starting in the same qualifying position (16th) Campbell quickly moved up into the top 10 but sadly notified the crew he had lost steering due to belt failure. Pulling into the pits they noticed that one of the front panels had blown out and let the mud in causing him to take a DNF.
The #5 ProAm/SDHQ race team is looking forward to rounds 11 & 12 of the Lucas Oil series set to invade Sparks, NV at the newly built Wild West Motorsports Park on August 25th and 26th.
