BJ Baldwin Prepared To Run The Peninsula in 45th Annual Baja 1000

Ensenada, Baja California – November 14th – BJ Baldwin and the #97 Monster Energy / Toyo Tires Chevrolet Silverado team will make their return to the recently weather stricken Baja Peninsula for the 45th Annual Tecate SCORE Baja 1000, November 14-17. Considered to be the most grueling off-road race in the world, this year’s course will be a peninsula run starting on the Pacific Ocean in Ensenada, Baja Mexico and traveling an incredible 1,121.55 miles south to finish on the Sea of Cortez in La Paz.

Driving the length of the Baja Peninsula at speed is challenging enough but Hurricane Paul left further damage in its wake adding to the enormous task at hand. Bj, who will be driving the entire race solo, will square off against 34 other Trophy Truck teams, many with two or three drivers, who are just as determined to win. When he goes off the line at approximately 11:30 a.m. PST on Thursday, he will be charging non-stop to the finish.

“My team and I know what it takes to win down here,” says BJ, “We have done more than enough to prepare truck, driver, and team for this race. After drastically changing my diet and physical fitness program, I’m stronger mentally and physically than I have ever been in my life. I’m ready for the 20 hours of desert racing madness that the Baja 1000 has to offer. The team as a whole has made sacrifices and put in long hours of hard work to make sure our operation is a well-oiled machine. No one wants to win as much as we do and we will stop at nothing to achieve our goal.”
