A first in Class 7, eighth in Class 1450.
In a stacked field of 54 competitors Team Koenig’s Total Chaos-equipped Toyota Tacoma triumphed as the first V6-powered truck across the finish line in the 1450 class. This group has become an unlimited class dominated by V8-powered trucks. To finish 8th overall for the weekend, with consistent laps within 20 seconds of each other, was a major accomplishment.
But that’s only half the story. Team Koenig was also entered in Class 7 at BAP. “On day one,” said team owner Mike Koenig,”the drive line hit a rock and got ejected.” Not good. But day two of racing ended a lot better with Koenig taking the checked flag, first for the day in Class 7.
As usual SNORE (Southern Nevada Off Road Enthusiasts) laid out a brutal course for the racers. Nearly half of those who started never made it to the checkered flag. Fortunately, Team Koenig’s Total Chaos Caddy Gen III suspension was more than up to the challenge.
Koenig Racing would like to thank all our terrific sponsors including
TOTAL CHAOS, Dezert People Films, Currie Rear Ends, Rugged Radios, Doug Thorley, Off Road Warehouse, Toyota T-Ten, King Shocks and Drift Innovation, as well as everyone on the Koenig Racing team. Next race, the NORRA Mexican 1000, four days of desert racing, Mexicali to Cabo San Lucas, April 27-May 1. Can’t wait!
