Banning Motorsports Keeps Incredible Streak Alive

To the Banning Motorsports team, the Best in the Desert Silver State 300 is no ordinary race. They won their first Silver State race in a class 2000 car back in 2008. After moving up into the faster 1100 cars, they went on to five more Silver State victories in a row winning in 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012 and again in 2013. That’s an astonishing record in a sport where it’s a great accomplishment just to finish the race.

“We expect to win every time,” says Bryan Folks, driver of record on the 1178 car, “I believe I have the best team, the best owner, the best car prepper, the best co-rider and the best sponsors. How could you not feel confident every time you line up to race?”

Bryan grew up racing a motorcycle over much of this same terrain; racing since age 11. “I live in Las Vegas but the desert is my second home,” Says Bryan.

Bryan locked in another consecutive win for the team but Lee suffered a bearing failure that took him out of contention for the win in class 10. The crew repaired the car enabling them to finish the race in the top ten.

“We have had incredible success as a team at the Silver State,” said Lee Banning Sr., “The 1178 team brought home another win for our team. They did a great job with a flawless run for the win. The 1023 car was on pace to have a good day as well until we lost a rear hub bearing at road mile 165. At that point, we were in a survival mind set. We got to pit 5 changed out the bearings and finished in the 8th place spot.

We need to thank our whole chase team for a great job by all. We can’t win these races without each and every one of them; thanks for always being spot on. The Banning Motorsports team will be out at BITD General Tire Vegas to Reno to continue their winning ways August 15-17, racing on some of the same terrain in northern Nevada.
