Riot RacingThe Silver State 300 was well underway on Saturday May 4th, when the Trick Trucks and Class 1’s lined up and staged for the race. Dirtbikes, quads and UTV’s started at sunrise and darted into the Southern Nevada mountains.

Ryan HancockStarting in 24th, the #29 truck would have 11 minutes and 30 seconds to make up in order to have the overall lead. Driving the truck the first half the race, Jordan Poole would pass numerous Class 1’s and Trick Trucks before RM 80. With only 68 more miles to go before Jordan was supposed to switch driving duties off to Ryan Hancock, the brutal silt would hold the #29 truck victim. Thinking that there was a stuck UTV in front of him, Jordan decided to slow down to be sure not to hit a fellow racer. As luck would have it, the UTV was off the course and Jordan found himself stuck in the deep silt bed. After sitting for 28 minutes, officials were able to pull the truck to hard dirt and Jordan was back on the gas.

Fresh tires, fuel and a quick drivers change at pit-4 and the truck was back on course and headed towards the finish. Manning the wheel for the second half of the race, Ryan Hancock didn’t let the gremlins of the first half distract him from getting to the finish. “Being patient in the dust and trees was a must at this race” said Hancock.

number 29After a rough 7 hours and 22 minutes, the #29 truck was crossing the official finish. The Riot Racing crew was out in full force at the finish to support Jordan and Ryan on their finish. A bittersweet moment turned into a learning experience “Our Silver State 300 was no doubt a learning experience for myself” stated the exhausted Ryan at the finish.

“We had a great run at this years Silver State 300. We are really starting to figure the truck out and see its true potential. We have some great products backing us that help show that we can run up front with the big dogs.” said Driver and Team Manager, Jordan Poole.

Placing 16th in the Trick Truck class, it is now time to prepare for Vegas To Reno where the drivers and crew will race “The Longest Off-Road Race In The United States”  August 15th-17th.
