SCORE Trophy Truck’s Reichert, Mexico’s Ramirez guests on this week’s Dirt LiveHD Internet broadcast

Roger Norman’s Dirt Live one-hour show is broadcast live weekly and the show is anchored around Norman’s two desert racing series, the SCORE Desert Series and the High Desert Racing Association as well as the new bonus points championship purse program he has developed called the World Championship of Desert Racing. All live events, this will be the 17th weekly Dirt LiveHD episode to air.
Dirt Live also goes on-site live with expanded event coverage during SCORE and HDRA race weekends and recently broadcast four days of coverage from the 27th Tecate SCORE San Felipe 250 from San Felipe, Baja California, Mexico in March and from the King Shocks HDRA 250 in Ridgecrest, Calif. in April.
SCORE is finalizing plans for even more enhanced coverage, all in High Definition, at the upcoming 45th Tecate SCORE Baja California in Ensenada, Mexico. Being held May 30-June 2, the event will also commemorate the 40th anniversary of SCORE International, which started on July 26, 1974 with the Tecate SCORE Baja 500.
Reichert races in the marquee SCORE Trophy Truck division for high-tech, 850-horsepower, unlimited production trucks while Ramirez is one of three riders on a top motorcycle team in the open Class 22.
Reichert, 43, of Cottonwood Shores, Texas, has raced in the desert on-and-off with SCORE for over 20 years but now has stepped up his game significantly by purchasing a state-of-the-art Jimco Racing Ford F-150 SCORE Trophy Truck to race with teammate Charles Dorrance another Texas SCORE desert racer from Austin. At last year’s Tecate SCORE Baja 1000, Reichert debuted his No. 26 R&D Motorsports Ford F-150 with Dorrance, finishing 20th out of 33 starters in the peninsular run from Ensenada to La Paz. Because of how durable it has proven to be, Reichert calls his No. 26 “The War Machine”.
In the once-in-a-lifetime Tecate SCORE Baja 2000 in 2000, Reichert was one of the drivers on the winning team in the Protruck class. He has also raced in Class 1, Class 10 and Class 1/2-1600.
One of the youngest regular racers in the SCORE Desert Series, Ramirez, 20, of Ensenada, is one of the top young motorcycle desert racers in the world and rides for the factory-supported KTM team.
With numerous podium finishes, Ramirez earned his first SCORE class win at the tender age of 16 when he was one of the riders for Guatemala’s Francisco Arredondo that won Class 21 in the 2008 Tecate SCORE Baja 1000. Last year, with his new team, Ramirez was a rider with Kurt Caselli, 29, Murrieta, Calif., as the pair won Class 22 and the overall title of the 2012 Tecate SCORE San Felipe 250.
This year in San Felipe, Ramirez finished second in Class 22 and among all motorcycles with Caselli as the duo rode the No. 2x Bonzana Plumbing KTM450SX-F. The third rider for this year’s upcoming Tecate SCORE Baja 500 with Caselli and Ramirez will be veteran Mike Brown, 41, Bluff City, Tenn.
In last year’s Tecate SCORE Baja 500, Ramirez and Caselli finished third overall and in Class 22 with the team’s third rider being Spain’s legendary Dakar Rally champion Marc Coma.
Besides Reichert and Ramirez, other guests scheduled this week along with show host George Antill are SCORE’s Roger Norman with his ‘pit stop’ segment along with the regular Tech Tips segment which this week will feature SCORE co-tech director Jake Velasco. The Dirt LiveHD video of the week will also be shown. This week’s DL video presentation will be highlights of this year’s Tecate SCORE San Felipe 250 produced by Mexico’s Cactus Films.
