American Rock Sports Challenge

Miller Motorsports ParkWhat do you get when you combine Miller Motorsports Park’s short course with their professional rock crawling competition course? The American Rocksports Challenge which is one of the most unique off road races in the country. The race combines short course and competitive rock crawling in a high speed, action packed event that captivates fans and challenges even the most seasoned ULTRA4 drivers.

 

For the 3rd year in a row, more than 50 ULTRAcars are heading to Tooele, UTAH to compete in a series of short course races that will leave only the most well-prepped cars standing by the main event which starts at 4PM.  Many of the biggest names in ULTRA4 are expected to be in attendance, including Stampede Winner, Jason Scherer, Glen Helen Winner Nick Nelson and Badlands Winner and returning American Rocksports Champion, Shannon Campbell. This will be the last West Coast race for teams to earn points for the Nitto Tire National Championship and the top 10 non-qualified drivers will earn a spot in the 2014 Griffin King of The Hammers Presented by Nitto Tire. This race is the 3rd race in the ULTRATrail-Gear Western Regional Series.

 

ULTRA4 races combine high speed desert and extreme rock crawling. The vehicles are unlimited 4 wheel drive machines that can run as much horsepower as they want. Some cars have turbos and super chargers and the tire size on these vehicles typically ranges from 35″ to 42.” The one requirement for these unlimited vehicles is that they all must have a transfer case capable of 4 wheel drive.

 

On Friday, ULTRA4drivers will have a chance to practice and qualify.  Saturday will be an action packed day of racing with UTV, Stock and Modified 4 wheel drive vehicles also racingThese vehicles are no strangers to high speed and extreme rocks. The 4600 Pro Comp Stock Class and UTVs will have an hour and a half long endurance race in the morning Followed by a meet and greet and autograph signing session for fans before the ULTRAvehicles take the green flag.
