| July 19, 2013

Snake and MongooseNORTH CANTON, Ohio — McCullough Public Relations, Inc. has been selected as the agency of record to direct all media relations activities for the national automotive press for the highly anticipated motion picture release of Snake & Mongoo$e.

Snake & Mongoo$e is set to open in theaters in 20+ markets nationwide September 6, with a DVD release date of November 9. It is the first drag racing film released in 30 years. It tells the story of one of the greatest rivalries in sports history and the groundbreaking accomplishments of Don ‘the Snake’ Prudhomme and Tom ‘the Mongoo$e’ McEwen.

McCullough PR will manage all national automotive related media interviews, and coordinate story placement, special events and movie premiere activities for automotive and motorsport related journalists. The agency will work at a grassroots level as well to publicize the movie to dragstrips, race venues, local car clubs, auto shows, automotive museums and other automotive organizations across the country.

“McCullough Public Relations was chosen for its outstanding reputation within the automotive industry and the company’s drag racing knowledge” said Robin Broidy, producer. “With Snake & Mongoo$e premiering in 20+ major markets around the country, McCullough PR was our first choice for ensuring an effective and strategic media relations campaign for the automotive industry.”

Led by Shari McCullough-Arfons, McCullough PR has nearly 30 years’ experience in national performance automotive public relations. She also has worked closely on projects with Snake & Mongoo$e writer Alan Paradise in the past.

Intimately familiar with the competitiveness and camaraderie of drag racing, Shari’s in-depth knowledge of the automotive industry is fuelled by her passion for all things automotive. She also has personal experience in the racing world through the work of her husband, Tim Arfons, known for his jet track dryer business and his line of “Green Monster” jet-powered vehicles. His legendary father, Art Arfons, was a three-time world land speed record holder and former NHRA drag racing record breaker.

Snake & Mongoo$e, starring Jesse Williams as “The Snake” and Richard Blake as “The Mongoo$e,” is the story of two revolutionaries whose battles on the track sharply contrasted with the profound friendship they experienced off the track. Set in the heyday of drag racing, the Snake & Mongoo$e Movie brings to life the colorful characters and legendary races that defined those exciting times.

The Snake and Mongoo$e marketing team is headed by Bob Angelotti of Angelcom Media (The Passion of the Christ, The Queen, Prince of Egypt, John Rambo, Expendables) and includes the talents of other major public relations powerhouses Glenn Selig, owner of The Publicity Agency and PR NewsChannel, Eddie Michaels of Beck Media, and Ken Goldstein of The Sixshooter Company. “We’ve hired each public relations agency because of their area of expertise and believe this team will help make our film a tremendous success,” says Broidy.
