Off-Road Community Support Drives the 1st Annual Fast-Aid Aid Golf Tournament to Success

Fast-AidOn June 29, over 120 Golfers and volunteers descended on the San Luis Rey Downs Golf Resort in Bonsall, California for the first ever Fast-Aid Charity Golf Tournament

“I’ve played in numerous charity tournaments over the years, but being that this was the first tournament I had coordinated and the first golf tournament for Fast-Aid, I had no idea what to expect. The response was overwhelming” said Jared Tetzlaff, President of the organization. (Pictured to the left).

Nearly two weeks before the tournament, all but the title sponsor spot had been spoken for and the tournament was nearly sold out.

Despite a heat wave and a mid-day shotgun start for the golfers, spirits were high and it was a festive atmosphere at registration.  The generous donations from numerous companies were motivating people to buy plenty of raffle tickets to add to the fun.

The raffle and silent auction items were literally falling off the tables and there were margaritas and beers and Speed Energy Drinks that had been donated to quench the thirst of the golfers.

Fast-AidFortunately, there were over 20 volunteers who decided to spend their Saturday helping make the event a success.

During the round of golf, the army of volunteers made their rounds with drink refills, donation buckets, raffle tickets and golf tips for the participants.

While the golf tips may or may not have been beneficial, there was no need for fashion tips as fire suits had been replaced with some fancy golf apparel.  In addition, the lack of race helmets ensured plenty of heckling between teams, which added to the entertainment of the day.

When the final putt was sunk, the final cart was parked and the final score was posted, the Bink Designs team finished with the low score and 1st place trophy.

The real victory for the day was the participation and involvement of so many great companies and participants who donated to make the tournament and silent auction possible.

After the dust had settled and credit cards had been run, over $12,000 had been raised for Fast-Aid.  The Board of Directors would like to thank all those who attended, donated, participated or volunteered and would like to especially note the following sponsors:
