Lower Trinity & Mad River Motorized Travel Management DEIS Comment Period Extended

The Six Rivers National Forest, located in northwestern California, has extended the public comment period for the Lower Trinity and Mad River Ranger District’s Motorized Travel Management Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS) an additional 15 days. The comment period will now end August 4, 2009.

Copies of the DEIS and maps are available for viewing at the Forest Service offices in Willow Creek, Mad River and Eureka, and at the Humboldt State University and Humboldt County Libraries. They may also be downloaded from the Forest’s website at http://www.fs.fed.us/r5/sixrivers/projects/ohv/#project.

Written, facsimile, hand-delivered, oral, and electronic comments concerning this action will be accepted during the additional 15-day comment period. Those wishing to comment should not rely on dates or timeframes from any other source. The purpose of this comment period is to provide the opportunity for the public to provide meaningful comment on the proposed action and environmental analysis.
