My Personal Review of the New Polaris RZR4

We recently had the chance to test drive the new Polaris RZR-4.  We have had the opportunity in the past to drive the 2-seater, so to be able to pack up the entire family of four into one car was great!  The back seats are awesome; they call them theater seats, so the people in the back can see what the driver sees. For me, that is awesome because I get car sick in the back seat if I can’t see what’s going on.  One of the other great features of the car was the color scheme. The black and blue were set off nice with the white accents.

We were out in Johnson Valley for the King of the Hammers so there was plenty of different terrain to try out this machine.  We loaded up the family and took off from camp. If you don’t know anything about Johnson Valley, let me say, there are a lot of sections with whoops and rocky terrain.  The RZR-4 handled them like a dream.  You wouldn’t believe how smooth of a ride it was through the whoop sections of our ride, so nice in fact, we were still able to hold a conversation.

As we left the whoop section we hit open desert and had a chance to really open it up.  It really does handle well for a vehicle that is quite a bit longer than most SXS’s. There was never a feeling of not enough power or not being able to control it.

Several places in Johnson Valley have some large sand hills. We decided to try out the vehicle in one particular area with some pretty steep hills. I was very impressed with the performance. Because it had been raining in the area for almost 2 weeks, we hit some areas that were harder to climb than others but it seemed to perform as well as the 2-seater.

Another great thing about this machine is the fact that the motor is so far towards the back that you can still talk to everyone in the car and hear everything they have to say.  This is exceptionally nice if you have smaller children and need to hear them instead of trying to turn around to look at them all the time to verify they are alright.

As our adventure for the day came to an end, the entire family drove back to camp with smiles on their face and a light conversation carried on between them.  The last thing I remember saying when we left the vehicle was “We really need to get one of these!”
