Sand Mountain Recreation Area - Entry Station

September, 2010 –  BLM in Carson City, NV:

The paving of Sand Mountain road is done and the contractor is currently working on the finish work to the building and road dips at this time. There may still be some equipment on site to watch out for so be careful

Check out the new ATV/UTV trail on either side of the road edge where you can avoid vehicle traffic and save wear and tear on your paddle tires! This path is for accessing the Sand Spring Station on the west side of the road or to head out to the hills on the east side of the road.

Remember, cross country riding is not allowed in the closed area!

The 2011 season passes are now available. To save time and avoid the lines after your long drive, you can purchase your pass over the phone through the BLM. Have your credit card and the vehicle license number for one or two vehicles that you will be using handy when you call in. The passes will be mailed to you the same or the following day! Call 775-885-6000 and ask to purchase the new Sand Mountain seasonal pass.
