Help USA-ALL Take Back Utah

| October 28, 2010 | 0 Comments

People often ask, “What can I do to help USA-ALL keep public land open?” The answer is simple, “Donate cash.” It may seem cold. It may seem too simple. But it is the truth and the easiest thing you can do. USA-ALL has the experience and ability to stop a sinister environmental agenda. USA-ALL has the ability to stop bureaucrats from taking your access away. The ONLY thing that stops us from doing more is lack of funds to implement our agenda.

In November, we will be sending you many appeals for donations. Please do not be offended by this. We try to not over solicit our supporters throughout the year for donations. Unfortunately our funds are low and we must focus our efforts to build financial reserves. This will allow USA-ALL to more effectively implement our agenda and fight for your land the rest of the year. We want you to know that USA-ALL is worthy of your donation. We have accomplished so much good over the years. We have helped engage elected officials in land use issues, we have been a watchdog on Utah’s capitol hill, we have passed helpful legislation, stopped bad legislation, created the Take Back Utah movement, united all types of Utahns to fight for better access, and we have been triumphant in court cases to defend against illegal closures.

We guarantee that you have more access to public land in Utah as a direct result of our efforts. Without USA-ALL there would be even less places to access and enjoy. That said we also know that there is more we can and want to do. With your help, we will protect more places from closure and we know that we can get a few closed places reopened. We realize we need to make better efforts to communicate more often with our supporters. Please be patient with us. We are trying to accomplish so much and often times our zeal to defend access to public lands prevents us from taking care of our wonderful supporters. We apologize and commit to making efforts to do better.

It seems like every fall our funds dwindle lower than normal. This year is no exception. We had a large and generous surge in donations last October. Those funds supported our aggressive “Stop SUWA Express” campaign and stopped SUWA from advancing their 9.4 million acre land use bill in Congress. This was a direct result of your swift reply and prompt financial support. It was a major victory for USA-ALL and certainly for our members. We could not have done what we did without such generous donations. But SUWA and their land grab attempts have not gone away. In the coming weeks you will receive communications from us outlining a new Mafia like tactic that environmental groups, like SUWA, are deploying. They also haven’t given up on the land grab bill. We intend to challenge them at every turn, but in order to do that we need the same swift action that you provided last fall.

As Election Day nears and it appears there will be a change of power in Congress we see new and hopeful opportunities for our organization. Please help us fill our war chest so we can not only defend our rightful access to Utah’s amazing outdoors, but so we can take the fight to the enemy. We have a letter that we are mailing to our past donors that outlines some of the direct action we intend to take with the generous donations given this fall. Click this link to review the letter and see what we are planning on doing.

Here is a quick rundown on what some of your donations will go towards. In addition to our important daily work, we need to pay for litigation to effectively challenge environmental nonsense in court and intervening on upcoming lawsuits that threaten many iconic recreation locations.  Additionally, we have two new special projects.  First, developing a documentary film explaining to viewers what Wilderness is and how it impacts them. We hope to buy air time on channels in Utah and adjacent states. This film will educate people on the truth about Wilderness designations. Second, developing a strategic, yet aggressive, plan to show potential congressional sponsors of SUWA’s bill our side of the story. We want to humanize the issues and truthfully show how SUWA’s bill will impact Utah, and how little it will do to “save the environment.” We know the truth is on our side but we need to go to Washington D.C. and meet with these people and even bring them to Utah to show them first hand the truth about access to public land and how irrational SUWA’s land grab bill is.

We recognize that the slow economy has affected many of  you; here at USA-ALL we have also tightened our belt and limited our spending.  We know that it is a challenging time; this makes your donations even more appreciated. Without your donations we cannot continue our critical work. Please click the donate button below and donate what you can to help us continue and improve our efforts to fight for you. Please also spread the word on the internet, and through your email lists. We need to get even more people involved. Together we can win the battle over access to Utah’s public land!
