Pitbull Tires is Title Sponsor of the 2011 Griffin King of the Hammers UTV Race

The Third Annual Pitbull Tires UTV version of King of the Hammers will take place in Johnson Valley, CA on Thursday February 10, 2011. The toughest off-road race on the planet, known as the Griffin King of the Hammers, will again entertain a race specific for UTV’s that is 40 miles long including going down two rock trails, across two wide open smooth sections and four technical sections, two hard pack and two sand. “I have to say we have spent as much time on this course design as the main course,” said Jeff Knoll of Hammerking Productions. “The course is very well rounded and difficult, but will not require a specifically built UTV. We used a nearly stock Kawasaki Teryx to test the race course.”

Pitbull Tires again leads the charge and will offer $5000.00 in prize money to the victors. Last year Pitbull Tires set a new standard in payouts for UTV events across the globe, this year they are back spreading the love a little more evenly offering more incentive to all drivers by offering contingency payouts on top of the Top Three placement winner payouts. “We love being there in the desert hanging out with all the top people in our industry, from the

competitors to the manufacturers…it’s the best part of what we do…and we will continue to do it as long as we are breathing,” said Michael Green, owner of PitBull Tires.

“We hope this year’s course adds a new element to the already exciting Hammers week of events in 2011,” said Green. The Pitbull Tires UTV race is limited to the first 50 UTV’s that sign up, and will take place as part of the weeklong King of the Hammers event on Thursday Feb 10th at 8:00 am. Basic safety gear is the only requirement to participate in the race. There will be one remote pit this year as well.
