On June 20th, tens of thousands of riders across the globe will be shunning public transport and leaving the car at home to prove to their work colleagues that commuting by bike is fast, fun and economical.

There are scores of special events planned throughout the UK to encourage you to drag the bike out of the garage including a free cup of tea at the Ace café, a police escorted convoy into Cambridge city centre and free breakfast at CMC Motorcycles in Chesterfield. The motorcycle trade are also entering into the spirit of the day with motorcycle insurer Carole Nash arranging free bike training sessions for their staff at its Manchester Road headquarters. Qualified instructors from the motorcycle industry’s Get On campaign will teach biking basics. The company is converting its carpark into a secure training area for the day so it can offer training sessions for up to 44 staff.

If you’re planning something special for Ride to Work Day, have an unusual journey, ride an interesting bike or are just doing what you do everyday, send us a photo of you and bike before midday on Monday. We’ll put the best photo’s in next weeks issue of MCN (on sale June 29).

Send your photo’s, stories or videos tomcn.letters@motorcyclenews.com.
