Roush Yates Engines Reach 100 Wins

| August 9, 2011

Ricky Stenhouse Jr.’s Roush Yates powered FR9 Ford gave him just enough power and performance on Saturday night to win the U.S. Cellular 250 at Iowa Speedway. Stenhouse joined Josh Richards, TG Paschal, and Brian Deegan as winners driving Roush Yates engines this weekend, giving Roush Yates over 100 wins in 2011.

Stenhouse and Roush Fenway teammate Carl Edwards were strong contenders throughout the entire race at Iowa Speedway, constantly swapping back and forth for position. Stenhouse fought his way to the front on lap 229 of 250 and held the lead until an extremely rare internal part failure, with about 600 feet to go, led to one of the most exciting finishes in the history of NASCAR. Stenhouse crossed the finish line first .006 seconds ahead of Carl Edwards after Edwards slammed into the rear of the No. 6 Ford Mustang. Iowa Speedway is the site of Stenhouse’s first ever Nationwide Series win in May and continues to be his favorite track.

“This was just an awesome job from this No. 6 team,” said Stenhouse Jr., who increased his series points lead to 12 over Reed Sorenson. “They work harder than anyone out there: all the guys at the shop and everyone at Roush Yates Engines. I have to thank the Lord above: he’s helped us through so much.”

Josh Richards brought home a special victory Saturday night, winning his first crown-jewel Dirt Late Model event at Cedar Lake (WI) Speedway. Richards was running a Roush Yates Ford 410 Dirt Late Model engine in the World of Outlaw’s 24th Annual USA Nationals.

“It hasn’t even sunk in yet,” said Richards, whose win was worth $50,125. “This place has always been real special to me. I remember coming here and watching the USA Nationals. I was just in awe. I fell in love with this track at a young age.”

TG Paschal won the Big Dog event at Piedmont Dragway in Greensboro on Thursday with his Roush Yates rebuilt small block Ford with Yates heads. This is Paschal’s second Big Dog win in Harold and David Sexton’s “Lil Red” Ford Mustang and his fourth drag racing win this season.

Fresh off his X Games 17 Rally Cross win last week, Brian Deegan captured his first Pro Lite Unlimited Win in the Lucas Oil Off Road Series at Glen Helen Raceway (San Bernardino, CA) on Sunday. Deegan started on the outside pole with his Roush Yates Off-Road engine. He was fast early, driving around pole sitter Corey Sisler in turn three. Deegan went un-touched throughout the entire race to pick up his fifth win of the year in the No. 38 Lucas Oil/Metal Mulisha Ford.

To date, Roush Yates Engines have posted 107 wins this season. To find out more about Roush Yates, visitwww.roushyates.com or call 1-877-798-RYPP.
