Reviewing Pro Armor’s New Harness Seat Belts

I was pleasantly surprised this evening to the doorbell ringing, Mr. UPS man had a box labeled Pro Armor, which I was expecting. The Conversation I had with Fred Brayton of Pro Armor at the Sand Sport Super Show turned into “Hey checkout these new harnesses we have” and the review bell rang only added to the anticipation I had to try these on for myself. I opened the box and my first impression of the Pro Armor harnesses is “Quality”. I am currently running the Crow 2” harnesses in my Teryx and they have also been a quality product to date but were missing some features that are present on the new Pro Armor 3” harnesses. First off standard sternum straps, this is a great (standard) feature and other harness manufacturers should take note of. The build quality of the harnesses are amazing! The stitching is very precise and done with a fit and finish that is rarely seen in this application. The 3” webbing used to construct the Pro Armor harness is very stiff and feel a lot more comfortable compared to the 2” Crow set I am currently running. The Pro Armor harnesses rest nicely on your shoulders giving a feeling of comfort that cannot be felt with a 2” Harness. Another nice feature that is included with the Pro Armor 3” harness is the 5th point which can be mounted in a variety of configurations to suit your application. The harnesses also come with two pockets on the harnesses themselves, one a water proof compartment large enough for today’s large smart phones such as my Droid Bionic, which with its ease of access makes this a great addition. Also included is a Led light which easily fits into the other mesh pocket for a quick light when needed. Installation was easy, I will get some more thoughts on these as I get a chance to put them to Work.

5 Point H style Harness with 3″ sewn in pads, Adjustable sternum strap, free Led light (Mesh pocket for light with Velcro closure) and water resistant pocket for phone or mp3 player. Shoulder and lap belts are sewn together for ease of dawning and doffing. Sewn harnesses have passes SFI testing but are not SFI certified for racing.
