Over The Top Motorsports/Thomas Grady Racing News From TREC & MAORA

| May 31, 2012

ThomasGradyMaoraThe weekend of May 19th and 20th was very busy with a 7:30 pm TREC Race at the Badlands Off-Road Park in Attica, Indiana on Saturday and a 11:00 am MAORRA short course race in Marengo, Indiana on Sunday.

The TREC Race was another very dusty 50 mile endurance event. After the start Thomas was in third place. While pushing hard on lap 4, Thomas got a flat tire. He made a pit stop and got the tire changed and a splash of fuel. After the pit stop Thomas worked his way through lots of dust and traffic, but was un-able to over-take the leaders and placed 3rd.

After the race everyone pitched in to wash the race car and load up the lights and supplies. After some dinner and showers we headed south until 1:00 am and got some sleep. At 6:00 am we hit the road again, taking two lane blacktop to Marengo, Indiana. We arrived at 9:00 am and found out the track was ¾ of a mile with three jumps.

Short course racing is very different than the 2-3 hour enduro racing that Thomas has been competing in the last two years. The short course racing has multiple cars at the same time fighting for position. Sunday’s race would consist of 3 heats, 10 laps each. At the end of the day Thomas finished in first place.
