Poison Spyder Releases Extreme Duty Trans Mount Crossmember For 2012 And Later Jeep JK

(August 8, 2012 • BANNING, CA) — Poison Spyder Customs, Inc., one of America’s leading manufacturers of hard core Jeep body armor and accessories, has introduced a version of its Extreme Duty Trans Mount Crossmember for 2012 and later Jeep JK Wranglers.

This completes the company’s lineup of Extreme Duty Crossmembers for the JK, which had already included a version for 2007-2011 models. The new Pentastar drivetrain featured on the 2012 and later Jeep JK’s necessitated alterations to the OE crossmember, subsequently also requiring a specific version of the Poison Spyder Extreme Duty crossmember.

The Poison Spyder Extreme Duty Trans Mount Crossmember is the toughest crossmember available for Jeep JK owners, fabricated from two halves of CNC laser cut, brake-formed 3/16” (.188”) plate steel. The two sections are nested so that the sides of the crossmember are an incredible 3/8” (.375”) thick, providing ultimate protection from bending the crossmember when the weight of the Jeep is high-centered on a trail obstacle. By comparison, the bottom half of the Jeep’s stock crossmember is made out of 14 ga. (.083”) stamped sheetmetal, and is easily damaged in even mild off-road situations.
