The Ultimate Urban Assault Vehicle From M&P Speed Shop

| December 11, 2012

MP_Speed_shop_mini_cooper_camo(Dec 6th 2012) M&P Speed Shop’s latest project is back on the road after the SEMA show, doing what it was designed to do assaulting the streets of Southern California. The concept was simple, build a great city car. Southern California’s cities have been slowly melting into one unending mass of urban sprawl, traffic, parking, and antiquated roads all mean its good to be small.

M&P first started by designing the exterior, vintage camo is popular so a retro camo pattern was created for the car and applied by the team at Daley Visual, while TMI Products took the interior from M&P’s sketches to reality. The heart of the classic Mini is a 1275cc Engine with a 4 speed gear box, parts were supplied by Mini Mania one of the few classic Mini specialists in the USA. A later model Mini Cooper rag top allows all of the California sun to shine in. Adding comfort and convenience to any commuter car is key, so a Moto Lita leather wrapped steering wheel was sourced and modern touch screen navigation and sound system by Valor Multimedia will keep you from getting lost.

Details like the leather hood strap and Le Mans fuel filler cap blend the old and new, while medium grey Minilight wheels keep it on the ground. Our photo shoot was in mostly abandoned sections of the city of Ontario, California, the Camouflage of the Mini contrasted against the peeling paint and bricks that make up the old downtown.

Look for this Mini on the streets of So Cal.
