District-38-1-12-15El Centro, Calif., (January 9, 2015) – AMA District 38 is proud to announce that they have officially inked a deal with Coyne Powersports for them to be named the official Title Sponsor of their All New D38 UTV Racing Series. This exciting new series will bring (7) UTV Off Road Racing events to the Imperial Valley’s famed Superstition Mountain OHV area.

AMA D38 President, Rob Niemela, had this to say about the new UTV series, “Everyone at D38 is extremely excited to bring UTV Off Road Racing into our series.” He continued, “As the old saying goes, with age comes a cage, so this new series will offer a chance for a retired D38 rider or a beginner into our sport of Off Road Desert Racing to experience the adrenaline and excitement this type of racing provides in an overall safer package”.

For 2015, All UTV racers will compete on the same weekend as the D38 Motorcycle and ATV events but will start in a completely separate time slot from the others. The UTV series will run on the same fun and always challenging courses that D38 is known for, featuring everything from fast trails and rocky canyons to sand dunes. Affordable $150 entry fees, 20 to 30 mile loops, Prize Money for top 3 finishers in each division, and D38’s experienced race officials and safety team is what UTV competitors will have to look forward to.

“This has been a long time coming” said a smiling Wayne Matlock, UTV Steward for the new Series. “With the volume of sport UTVs in the market, the goal for the series was to offer an entry level, grass roots competitor base to introduce people into the sport of UTV Desert Racing. We truly believe this will be a huge success with large entries and competitive racing within all 3 of our sanctioned classes Pro Production, Pro Stock, and Unlimited.”

President of the Coyne Powersports Group, Marty Coyne had this to say about the new relationship, “With myself being an avid off road enthusiast, we stay involved in the sport of Off Road Racing on many levels. The UTV market is on fire right now and with this new series starting in my backyard, I knew we just had to get involved.” Coyne continued, “We are currently working on a comprehensive sponsorship and contingency packages for the racers that we will be releasing soon.”
